Neighbors report shots fired in Ranchos

The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a report of several gunshots fired in the neighborhood of Leonard Road and Hornet Drive in the Gardnerville Ranchos at 11:45 p.m. Tuesday.

There were no reports of injuries or property damage.

According to Sgt. Tom Mezzetta, about 10 gunshots were fired in the air during a dispute between the driver of a white car and several individuals on foot. When deputies arrived, the parties had left the area. Officials are seeking help in identifying the driver of a white compact vehicle, possibly a Volkswagen sedan.

Witnesses described the driver as a white male, age 19 to 23, 5-feet, 11-inches tall with a slim build.

Officials believe the rear window of the white car was broken during the confrontation.
