Mysterious suitcase left in front of store

The Ross store at the Target shopping center in north Douglas County was closed briefly Saturday while county explosives’ experts disposed of a suitcase left in front of the building.
The store manager called deputies about 5 p.m. Saturday when she noticed a blue suitcase in the walkway outside the store next to two plastic trash bags. She said the suitcase had been in a shopping cart outside the store when she left late Friday.
Deputies called the DCSO explosive ordnance team to investigate and evacuated and closed the store until it was determined there were no explosives.

The woman said she noticed discrepancies when she checked her balance on Nov. 29.
— A Gardnerville woman reported grand larceny Dec. 5 after nearly $1,800 was missing from her fanny pack at Wal-Mart.

The woman said as she was getting in her vehicle Saturday morning, she realized she left her pack in her shopping cart. She said she immediately returned to the store and was sent to lost and found.
The woman said she found the pack, but the money was missing. Deputies asked the store to provide surveillance videotapes.
