A mural honoring Gardnerville’s Basque heritage has finally found a home on the side of the Mason’s Building.

A proposal for Carson Valley artist Beverly Caputo to paint the 12-foot by 16-foot mural has moved a couple of times.

Originally planned for the side of the old Pyrenees Hotel, which once housed Aladdin Flowers, that proposal disappeared when the building was demolished last spring.

After talking to the Parks about possibly putting it on the Overland, Main Street Gardnerville Director Paula Lochridge said Tuesday the mural has found a home with the Mason’s.

The mural would be painted on six 4-foot-by-8-foot panels.
