Minden wants to add sidewalks
October 15, 2002
Minden officials want to make the town more pedestrian friendly and will ask commissioners Thursday to endorse their plan.
The Town of Minden has asked commissioners to provide a letter of endorsement to submit along with a matching fund application package to the Nevada Department of Transportation Enhancement Funds.
The money will be used to install sidewalks, landscaping and lighting at the north side of County Road from First Street to the Freeman Williams Building during the next 10 years.
If the Town gets approved for matching funds D with a requirement of 5 percent of the total project cost coming from the city D it could accelerate the time line for County Road project that will be submitted at part of the County’s Capital Improvement Plan for the next fiscal year.
