Medical center welcomes new CEO
Preston Becker has been appointed chief executive officer at Carson Valley Medical Center effective June 13.
In this role, Becker will oversee the operations of the hospital and clinics, and will work closely with the center’s executive team, medical staff and board of directors to set the vision for the future of the organization.
Becker comes to the Gardnerville hospital from Moscow, Idaho, where he was the chief financial officer at Gritman Medical Center since October 2013. Gritman Medical Center is a critical access hospital in a service area of approximately 50,000 people. Prior to that, he served as chief financial officer at Kewanee Hospital in Illinois, Vibra Specialty Hospital in Portland, Ore., and Steele Memorial Medical Center in Salmon, Idaho.
Becker has a bachelor’s degree in business and finance from the University of Idaho and a master’s degree in hospital administration.
Community-minded, Becker has been a member of Rotary International, president of a local arts council and a member of a local search and rescue unit. He comes to the Carson Valley along with his wife and three young children.
Carson Valley Medical Center is a nonprofit medical facility that provides acute and ICU care, surgery, 24-hour emergency services, and outpatient services. A partnership of Barton Health and Renown Health, CVMC’s mission is to promote the health and wellness of the Carson Valley.
