The McDonald’s restaurant in Minden hosted a fundraiser Friday evening for employee Andrea Navarro who was injured in a motorcycle accident.

The fundraiser was held from 4 to 8 p.m. with 20 percent of sales being donated to the family, totaling $2,475.

The breakdown of the donation includes: $675 from sales, $500 from a local business, Tech Spec, $300 from tips at the counter and the drive thru, and $1,000 personal donation from the owners, Chris and Sharon Kassity

Novarro was there to greet her supporters and fellow employees, and received a check from the Kassity family to help with her medical bills.

The accident occurred May 27 in the Douglas High School parking lot. Navarro was on the back of a motorcycle when the driver hit a puddle and lost control of the bike.

Both were thrown from the motorcycle according to the Nevada Highway Patrol.

Navarro received a compound fracture to her leg and is in need of surgery.
