Marine Corps Birthday next week

Carson Valley Marines will be observing the birthday of their service 11:30 a.m. Nov. 8 at the Judicial & Law Enforcement Center.
Celebrating the Marine Corps birthday, which is Nov. 10, has been a longstanding tradition at the Sheriff’s Office.
All Marines and spouses are invited to attend.

Both Gardnerville and Scarselli elementary schools are inviting veterans to assemblies. Gardnerville’s event is at 9 a.m., Scarselli’s 9:45 a.m.
The Douglas County Senior Center will be having its annual USO celebration 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Nov. 8.
