Management changes at C-21

by Linda Hiller

Management has tripled at Century 21 Clark Properties, Inc. Previously run solely by owner/broker Patty Clark, the 14-year-old Carson Valley real estate company now has two additional partners.

“I felt it was time to bring in new energy and enthusiasm and fresh blood to the company,” Clark said. “Plus, I have a lot of other interests that I wanted to pursue and other clients I wanted to work closely with. This was an exciting opportunity to make that possible.”

Buying into the company are agents Shele Pandl and Rob Wigton. As partners, the three will share ownership and management responsibilities in running the franchise, Clark said.

Pandl has been with Century 21 Clark Properties, Inc. since 1993 and has ties to the Lake Tahoe community, having moved to Incline Village the summer of 1984 following college.

She worked at Harvey’s Resort Hotel and Casino at South Lake Tahoe in marketing and made a move to into real estate five years ago.

Pandl’s husband James is a casino executive at Harvey’s and the couple live in Sheridan Acres in Minden.

Her interest in buying into Clark’s company has been brewing for some time, Pandl said.

“I’ve been in real estate since 1993, and it seemed like the next logical step was to do this,” she said. “Over the years, I had talked to Patty and said that if she was ever interested in selling, I’d be interested in buying in. Patty and I have always had a fabulous relationship – sort of a mentoring one – so this is a great opportunity.”

Wigton joined the company as an agent in 1995, specializing in residential and commercial real estate. He previously worked in radio and television journalism in Fargo, N.D.

In 1992, Wigton and his family moved to Irvine, Calif., where he ran a video marketing company. Following a trip to north shore to visit his sister, he found his way to the carson Valley and fell in love with it.

“We actually moved here with no jobs,” he said. “But, I had gotten my real estate license and Patty was one of the first people I met here. She hired me and my first three years here were exceptional, I think. I love working with the people – it sometimes reminds me of the news business because if the variety.”

Wigton and his wife, Susan Bullard, a part-time teacher at Douglas High School, live in Gardnerville and have two sons, Kirby, 8 and Shane, 7.

Clark, who has four grown daughters and nine grandchildren, said the 36-person Century 21 office will continue to operate in essentially the same manner as prior to the addition of the two partners.

“I am really happy to be working with Shele and Rob,” she said. “They bring a lot of talent to the company and I love them to death. Actually, I love everybody who works here – we have a great group of people.

“I am excited that now I’ll be able to spend more of my time with other business interests,” Clark said.

Century 21 Clark Properties, Inc. is located at 1644 Highway 395 in Minden.
