Leonid meteor shower due Thursday night

There’s a chance that Western Nevadans will get a look at the annual light show presented by the Leonids meteor shower on Thursday.
The moon will be down to nearly its last quarter, but the National Weather Service is forecasting mostly cloudy skies.
The Tahoe Rim Trail Association, Tahoe Institute for Natural Science and Space Science for Schools are hosting an opportunity to learn about the annual meteor shower from knowledgeable guides 7-9 p.m. Thursday.
Participants are urged to bring lawn chairs, warm blankets, winter jacket and hat, snacks and hot chocolate. Minimal hiking involved (Directions to the trailhead will be provided upon registration for this event).
