Last fishout of the season for HSFC
October 17, 2001
The High Sierra Fly Casters will hold their last Fishout for the 2001 season on Saturday, Oct. 27, for club member families and all others who are interested in the sport or would like to learn about fly fishing. The day will begin at 10 a.m.
We will meet at Eagle Lake RV Park, located in the northeast corner of Eagle Lake near Pine Creek within the Spaulding subdivision complex. Eagle Lake is northwest of Susanville. The RV park is midway across the street from the airport, which is located on the lake shore.
A brief presentation will be held on the type of fly to use, presentation, line type and weight, as well as general information on how to catch Eagle Lake trout on a fly rod.
Take medium weight rods with intermediate and/or floating lines. Trout are feeding on leeches, scuds and snails during this time of year. Dress for cold weather conditions. Bring water and a California fishing license.
The Fish Master for this Fishout is club member Jim Weishaupt. He can be reached at 463-4727 for details. Barbecued trip-tip sandwiches, chili, sourdough bread and wine will be served during the 1:30 p.m. lunch at the RV park.
The Spaulding area is a beautiful location to visit. Take your family and friends and plan to stay overnight. The Eagle Lake RV Park, (530) 825-3133, is wonderful. Lakeview Inn Hotel, restaurant and bar next door is a great place to stay and has good food. Everyone is encouraged to participate in this last Fishout of the season.
