Last baby gets the beef
For the second year in a row, the Nevada Cattlewomen will award a $50 beef certificate to the parents of the last baby born in 2000.
“We pick the last baby of the year because usually the first baby gets all the attention,” said Annalynn Settelmeyer of Gardnerville, president of the organization.
“No one ever gets credit for missing the deadline by a couple of seconds,” she said.
The lucky parents of the last baby born in Carson Tahoe-Hospital will receive the certificate, good for Butler Meats.
“We realize all new mothers need as much protein as they can get,” Settelmeyer said.
