Injured skier chooses cab over ambulance
January 18, 2011
An injured skier chose to take a taxi cab for treatment on Sunday afternoon.
Members of Douglas County Sheriff’s Search & Rescue were training when they were flagged down by a passing skier who said he’d seen another skier who needed help.
The injured skier was found out of bounds near the Nevada state line with a leg injury at about 1 p.m.
When searchers reached the man, he refused treatment. He called a cab to take him to the hospital.
