Indian Trail fire extinguished

by Kurt Hildebrand

Firefighters fought a chimney fire on Indian Trail in the Foothill area this morning.

The fire was reported at 7:10 a.m. in the 700 block of Indian Trail. It had burned a hole in the roof near the chimney.

East Fork firefighters had the fire extinguished by 8:28 a.m.

Fire Chief Tod Carlini said the fire burning in the attic was a stubborn one. Firefighters cut another hole in the home’s roof to ventilate the attic.

Freezing temperatures this morning prompted people to use their woodstoves and fireplaces.
