Holbrook house fire cause undetermined
A fire near Holbrook Junction early Monday morning started in the home’s garage.
East Fork Fire Investigator Capt. Terry Taylor said he confirmed that the fire didn’t have a suspicious cause, but couldn’t determine the exact cause due to the extent of the damage.
The fire at 3260 Highland Way was reported at 4:47 a.m. Monday by neighbors after there was an explosion in the garage.
More than three-dozen firefighters from East Fork, Antelope Valley and Smith Valley fought the fire.
Flames from the blaze forced fire crews to retreat from inside of the home. Firefighters battled to keep the fire from spreading to the surrounding wildland.
The homeowners were on vacation at the time of the fire.
According to the Douglas County Assessor’s Website, the home belongs to Michael and Paula Zuppan. The one-story home was constructed in 2005.
