Historical society hosts Christmas tree contest
The Douglas County Historical Society announces that 18 decorated Christmas Trees are on display for the 9th annual Gallery of Trees at the Carson Valley Museum & Cultural Center in Gardnerville.
Individuals, organizations and businesses have decorated each with a titled theme.
Patrons visiting the museum are invited to vote for their favorite tree, at 25 cents per vote.
Proceeds from the voting will benefit the Historical Society.
The favorite tree will be announced in January.
Individuals participating are Adele James and Donnis Thran. Others entries are from the Gourmet Sewing Company, A Wildflower, Joyce’s , Heritage Tours, and Laura Springs Antiques, The Town of Minden, the Partnership of Community Resources, Trinity Lutheran Preschool and Douglas County Sheriff Office also have an entry. Organizations participating include The Hip Hatters of Carson Valley, the Carson Valley-Gardnerville Kiwanis Club, the Douglas County 4-H, the Carson Doll Club, the Scarlet Ladies Red Hat Society, the Douglas County Republican Women and The Western Nevada Cattlewomen.
The decorated trees, with their unique themes, displayed on both the upper and lower levels of the museum, will delight young and old alike.
The whole family will be inspired and enthused to see the many kinds of decorations each tree displays.
The Gallery of Trees will be on display 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday, until Dec. 30.
