Helicopter spots Pine Nut fire
A 1-acre fire in the Pine Nut Mountains above Johnson Lane is under control, according to the Sierra Front Interagency Dispatch.
The Thursday fire was found by a helicopter that responded to reports of a lighting strike near Sunrise Pass Road.
The report came in at 2:47 p.m., and was under control by 8 p.m.
Lightning strikes were also reported near Highway 50 above Jacks Valley Road.
As of Friday, no fires were located as a result of those reports.
A trace amount of rain fell with the storm, with .03 inches reported north of Genoa.
Carson Valley firefighters responded to a fire just about every day during the past week.
East Fork firefighters responded to an electrical pole on fire at the substation near the new construction at Buckeye Lane and Water Street in Minden.
The fire was reported at 10 p.m. Thursday and was not threatening structures.
A 45-acre blaze off Jacks Valley Road near the Montaña subdivision on Monday and a half-acre fire off the dirt portion of Buckeye Road on Wednesday are under investigation.
