Health Fest hosts third Colorblast! 5K
Tahoe Youth & Family Services is hosting its third annual Colorblast! 5k color run fundraiser as part of Carson Valley Medical Center’s Health Fest 2017 on Aug. 19.
Unlike other 5K runs, Colorblast! runners are covered from head to toe in different corn starch based (totally safe and edible) colors at each kilometer. Each section of the run adds a new layer of color to the runner’s clean clothes, hair, and skin until they cross the finish line in a final colorful explosion. The race is non-competitive and runners from all ages and ability levels are encouraged to participate.
The race begins 9 a.m. in the Carson Valley Medical Center parking lot at 1107 Highway 395 in Gardnerville. To register for the race, visit http://www.tahoeyouth.org.
Prices are $40 for Adult, $30 for Teens 11-17, and children 10 and under are free. Register by Aug. 4 to guarantee a Colorblast T-shirt for the day of the race. All proceeds from the race will go to support the local programs of Tahoe Youth & Family Services.
Carson Valley Medical Center Health Fest 2017 runs from 8:30 a.m. to noon and will feature free health screenings and assessments, valuable health and wellness resources, free activities for kids, food, music and great raffle prizes.
