Happy New Year, Antelope Valley
It doesn’t seem possible that another year has gone by, but it has been an eventful one. We’ve had the government shutdown, the Obamacare issues, wars in the Middle East, etc. It makes me kind of glad we live where we do, where life is pretty normal. Have a very good holiday and 2014.
A recent alert from the Mono County Health Officer warns that there has been an increase in the flu in our area. If you haven’t already, please get a flu shot and be careful. If you have the virus, stay home from work and take care of yourself.
There is a need in Mono County for temporary and long term foster homes to help children and families in our community. Mono County Social Services will be hosting a meeting 5:30-7 p.m. Jan. 8 at the community building in Walker to tell about the need for this help. Everyone is invited to attend and learn more.
Meet your Supervisor
There will be a meeting 5:30-7 p.m. Jan. 9 at the community building in Walker with District 4 Supervisor, Tim Fesko. He wants to meet with us and give us important information about the coming year’s issues and get our feedback. It is very important that we have our voice in the governmental plans, so please try to come and participate.
