Goodby party set for Fran Houle

Staff reports

Friends and co-workers of Fran Houle will be able to bid her good-bye Friday at a “Toast to Fran” open house hosted by friend Jerry Bing at her Gardnerville Ranchos home.

The retiring executive director of the Douglas County Building Industry Association and founder of BOSS, will be moving to New Mexico this month to be closer to family.

Bing said she decided to throw the going away get-together at the behest of friends who said they wanted a chance to say goodbye to Houle.

“She’s my best friend and I know what an impact she’s had on the community,” Bing said. “I think everybody wants some closure, so I thought this would be a good way to provide an opportunity for people.”

The open house will be held Friday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Bing’s house, 1580 Fifth Green Court. The public is welcome to attend.

For more information, call Bing at 265-3641.
