Genoa plans "Starving Artists" show
The first Town of Genoa “Starving Artists” show is looking for participants. The show is scheduled in the Genoa Town Hall, Saturday, Dec. 2, and Sunday, Dec. 3, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., in conjunction with the “Christmas in Genoa” show.
The show is open to all Northern Nevada artists in original work. The art must be ready to hang and be 30 by 40 inches or smaller and priced to sell.
Ann Campbell, 783-1178, from The Genoa Gallery, is coordinating the artworks, and questions should be addressed to her.
The “Christmas in Genoa” committee is planning for a traditional Christmas celebration for the two days, with theme table settings, decorated trees and artisans offering candlemaking, handmade soaps and afghans, Christmas quilts and hand-thrown pottery. A Victorian corner is also planned. Father Christmas, musical groups and a Christmas Cafe will utilize the town hall and old firehouse.
There will be no admission charge. Colors will be traditional: silver, gold, white, cranberry, pink or red. Artificial materials are not acceptable. Anyone who wants to participate should contact the Town of Genoa at 782-8696.
