Genoa business association writes check to DAWG
July 17, 2012
Following its June Sweet Sippin’ Sunday event, the Greater Genoa Business Association recently presented a $540 check to the Douglas Animal Welfare Group.
“We had a great turn-out to help support the nonprofit organization and helped get dogs adopted,” said GGBA member Christine Cole. “We appreciated all who came out to support the event and organization. The proceeds helped with food, adoption, spay and neutering and more.”
Held the first Sunday of the month, 1-4 p.m., the Sweet Sippin’ Sunday events raise funds for different charitable causes.
The July event, which already happened, will benefit Douglas County seniors and veterans. The Aug. 5 event will benefit Austin’s House, September will benefit the Douglas County Center for Hope and Healing, and October will benefit the GGBA.
