Fundraiser set for Suicide Prevention Network
A community event to raise money for Suicide Prevention Network is slated for Friday, April 7.
Gotta Dance “Goes to Broadway” is the sole fundraiser for the nonprofit organization whose mission is to provide suicide prevention, intervention, education and support services free for Douglas County residents.
Nine local celebrity dancers and their instructors will be spotlighting Broadway songs during this year’s event. Sheela Bilderback, Dan Coverley, Dan Hamer, Andrea Highfill, Kathleen Kelly, Jeanne Koerner, Alicia Main, Jim Seyfried and Chris Winberg have been polishing their dance moves to give themselves the best chance of going home with the mirror ball trophy. Each dancer is competing for first- or second-place in two categories — most money raised and dance skills.
Community members can show their support by donating online at https://www.spnawareness.org/gotta-dance-2017/ or by contacting the Suicide Prevention office at 775-783-1510. Tickets are available at the Suicide Prevention office, 1625 Highway 88, Suite 203, Minden.
Doors open at 6 p.m. and show begins at 7:30 p.m. at the Douglas County Community Center. Tickets are not sold the night of the event.
