Full year’s tuition prize for opening account
Through the end of January, anyone who opens a Nevada Prepaid Tuition account will automatically be entered to win an account equal to a full year of in-state tuition, valued at $6,023.
“As of today, there are about 200 people entered in the contest,” said Nevada State Treasurer Dan Schwartz. “Your odds in this giveaway are much higher than they were in the Powerball, and a Nevada Prepaid Tuition account is a much better investment in the long run.”
The Nevada Prepaid Tuition program will cover the cost of in-state credit hours. The program can be used with other 529 college savings plans or scholarships to cover additional college expenses, including books, fees and housing. Under the terms of The Nevada Prepaid Tuition Program, benefits may be used at any eligible school in the country – meaning in-state benefits can be used to pay toward tuition costs at public or private colleges, universities or trade schools that are eligible to participate in federal student aid. A list of eligible schools can be found at http://www.FAFSA.ed.gov.
To enter in contest, interested participants must open a Nevada Prepaid Tuition account before Jan. 31. An account can either be paid for as a lump sum when opened, or monthly payments can be made. Visit NVPrepaid.gov to learn more about the program and to begin the enrollment process.
