Four survive plane crash at Bridgeport

A firefighter examines the wreckage of a single engine aircraft that crashed on Sunday morning.

Four people survived a Sunday morning airplane crash at Bryant Airfield in Bridgeport.

Emergency personnel responded to the crash at 9:30 a.m., according to the Mono County Sheriff’s Office.

When they arrived, they found a 1972 single-engine Cessna resting on its roof. Of the four passengers in the aircraft, one was helicoptered to Renown Regional Medical Center in Reno for treatment. The other three were taken to Carson Valley Medical Center in Gardnerville by ground ambulance.

The cause of the crash is under investigation by the National Transportation Safety Board and the Federal Aviation Administration.

Units from the Mono County Sheriff’s Office, Bridgeport Fire Department, U.S. Forest Service Fire Department, and Mono County Paramedics responded to the crash..

The names of the aircraft’s occupants have not been released.
