Former U.S. Attorney Greg Brower named to replace Raggio
January 18, 2011
Washoe County commissioners selected former U.S. Attorney Greg Brower to replace Sen. Bill Raggio.
Brower served in the Nevada Assembly until he was defeated by Sharron Angle.
County commissioners interviewed 12 candidates to fill the seat this morning.
They made their decision right around 12:20 p.m. today.
Brower will take his seat in the senate for the session that starts on Feb. 7.
Per state statute, all candidates must be of the same political party as the incumbent (Republican in this case), and must actually live in the same Senate District (District 3 in this case).
