Florida man arrested in felony driving under the influence
A Florida man was arrested on a felony after allegedly driving under the influence on Thursday night.
Dara Siev, 41, of Pinellas Park, Fla., was reported as a reckless driver on Highway 395 near Airport Road.
According to the sheriff’s report, there was a 25-ounce Budweiser in the cupholder. A preliminary breathylizer test revealed .213.
■ A Gardnerville man reported he was driving down Pinewood Drive in Minden when a man stopped him, and punched him in the face on Sunday morning.
According to the sheriff’s report, the man said he’d dropped off his girlfriend and was driving away when a white man wearing a tan jacket stood in his path. When he stopped, the man walked up to his open car window struck him a half-dozen through his open window.
The victim said he blocked some of the blows and was able to push the man away. The attacker ran back to one of the nearby apartments.
No one witnessed the attack and deputies were unable to find any witnesses who could lead them to the attacker.
■ An Indian Hills woman reported her identity may have been stolen when she enrolled on a website, which asked for several items of personal identifying information.
On Oct. 1 she heard from someone from Phoenix, who said her child needed special care. On Saturday, the woman became suspicious and checked the Internet for scams, finding copies of the messages she received from the woman.
She contacted deputies and turned over the emails.
■ On Thursday morning, an Indian Hills resident reported someone had taken his tool box from the back of his Ford pickup truck, which was parked in the 800 block of Amador Circle.
The man said he parked the vehicle on Wednesday night. He didn’t notice anything was missing until he left for work and found the door to his camper swinging open.
He said the tools and toolbox were valued at $250.
