Firefighters mop up blaze near Dressler Lane
A fire on Westside Lane ranchland, which was reported around lunchtime on Sunday, has rekindled over the past few days.
A mop-up crew was called in at 2 p.m. for the fire which grew to about a half-acre on private property located in southern Carson Valley near Highway 88 and Dressler Avenue.
The fire was reportedly started by a rock hit by a riding lawnmower.
Firefighters were called back to the scene when winds rekindled the fire on Tuesday afternoon.
With little moisture this winter, dry conditions make routine operations hazardous.
