Fire restrictions lifted
October 11, 2011
The Bureau of Land Management Carson City District Office and the Nevada Division of Forestry’s Sierra Forest Fire Protection District have lifted fire restrictions that have been in place since July 23.
Decreasing daily sunlight, increasing fuel moisture levels and unseasonably cool temperatures are allowing the agencies to lift fire restrictions, but officials note that wildfire still is possible, even though there has been rain and snow.
