For Michelle Harmon thirty-two years of providing hair services is a craft and open canvas she is passionate about. She has joined with Fifth Street Salon and couldn’t be happier.

“It’s always been something I enjoy,” said Harmon. “I would do my friends’ hair in high school and I always had fun with it and would try new things.”

Fifth Street Salon is located in the Minden Town Hall on Esmeralda Avenue with a window view of Minden Park. Harmon said the location is perfect and when the music in the park concerts are happening or any event in the area, they will open the window of the salon and enjoy the music and festivities while providing full service hair and nails.

“The salon is located in the heart of charming old town Minden,” said Harmon. “Our clients really enjoy the location and the environment of the salon. We have a lot of fun here.”

Harmon relocated from Mammoth where she knew and worked with Fifth Street’s Nail technician, Debbie Orr-McGrale. McGrale has been at the salon for 17 years providing nail services. When Harmon joined her in March they expanded it to full service hair and nail.

“We do pretty much everything, cuts for men, women and kids, color, perms and straightening, even facial waxing, manicures, pedicures and wedding services, all at average and decent pricing.”

Harmon said she loves owning her business and having the freedom of doing what she loves in and out of the salon.

“Nothing is more fulfilling to me than doing hair and working with clients to meet their satisfactions,” she said. “It also allows me to enjoy my family and ride horses with my daughters.”

Harmon is continuously brushing up on the latest styles, trends and techniques to bring a variety of services to her clients with professionalism and experience in the area. She is compassionate with her clients and listens to their ideas and needs.

“I enjoy engaging with my clients and having them leave happy,” said Harmon. “The best reward is seeing a satisfied client, it makes me feel good too.”

Fifth Street Salon is located at 1604 Esmeralda Avenue, Suite 202 and are open 9 a.m.-6 p.m. Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. -3 p.m. Saturday and closed Sunday.

“We are taking clients and our times vary as appointments are made. We stay as long as we need to for our clients in order to make them happy and leave satisfied.”
