Emeritus hosts First Responders Appreciation Day
To show their appreciation to East Fork firefighters and paramedics, Emeritus at Gardnerville is throwing them a barbecue.
The First Responders Appreciation Day is 11:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m. June 27 at 1565 Virginia Ranch Road in Gardnerville.
“We want to thank them for looking out for our residents,” Executive Director Katie Nichols said. “We really appreciate our first responders. We do have quite a few falls, and they come out and assess if any medical help is needed.”
Paramedics respond to the senior living facility up to 20 times a month, and the barbecue is a way for first responders and residents to meet during nonemergency.
Nichols said she plans on making the event an annual tradition.
Don Kay and Joseph Greco will provide the entertainment. The hamburger and hotdog lunch is free with drinks available for sale.
