Elks honor veterans with barbecue dinner

The Tahoe-Douglas Elks Lodge 2670 celebrated Veterans Day with a barbecue dinner with all the trimmings.
The Elks' special guests were 57 veterans, representing all branches of service, from World War II, Korea, Vietnam and Iraq.
In addition there were 58 family members of the veterans.
The Elks lodge was honored to have veterans from the Carson Valley Senior Living in Gardnerville.
Douglas High School Tiger Squadron JROTC presented the colors of Flags.
"In addition the young men and women proudly served all of veterans and guests their dinner," Elk James Plamenig said. "This year we honored one of our members, Chief Petty Officer Ted Henson, as Elks Outstanding Veterans with a Service Award for his untiring efforts to help out all veterans. Ted Henson is also a Veteran from the Vietnam War era."
