East Fork firefighters on way to Washoe fire

East Fork firefighters have been asked to help battle a blaze threatening homes in northern Washoe Valley.
Brush 12 was called to the fire at 1:47 p.m. Early reports are that at least two homes burned and a gas station is threatened by the blaze.
The initial fire size is unknown and structures are threatened. Highway 395 is closed in Washoe Valley, according to the Sierra Front Interagency Dispatch.
A water tender, two hand crews and seven engines are onscene, according to the Sierra Front.
Nevada Division of Forestry, the Bureau of Land Management, U.S. Forest Service and NV Energy are responding to the fire.
A red flag warning is in effect in Western Nevada through 4 p.m. today.

A 62 mph gust was recorded by the National Weather Service in Carson Valley at 12:41 p.m.
