Early morning fire destroys Jobs Peak home

A home on Natures Edge suffered major damage in an early morning house fire Tuesday.

A chimney fire that spread to the roof of a home in the 400 block of Natures Edge near Fredericksburg near the Douglas County line was contained at 8:15 a.m. Tuesday morning.

The fire was reported by the residents just before 6 a.m., according to East Fork Fire Captain Terry Taylor.

Crews remained on scene to mop up.

The home at that address is 10,000 square feet on 8.2 acres, according to the Douglas County Assessor’s Office.

Units from East Fork Fire Department, Gardnerville, Johnson Lane, Sheridan and Gardnerville Ranchos Volunteer Fire Departments and Tahoe Douglas Fire District responded to the fire.
