The Eagles & Ag Steering Committee has made its selections of winning photos submitted for its annual photo contest.

Dwayne Hicks got the nod for Best Eagle/Birding image, with a great capture of a mature bald eagle — talons out — coming in for a landing.

Merry Muller, a past winner, appealed to the softer side of the judges with her portrait of a mother and calf.

Both Hicks and Muller are Carson Valley residents and prolific photographers. They will each receive a $125 check from Eagles & Ag, courtesy of Legacy Land & Water, longtime sponsors of the contest.

Eagles and Agriculture is a joint project between the chamber, the Lahontan Audubon Society, University of Nevada Cooperative Extension, Western Nevada Resource Conservation District, The Nature Conservancy and the United States Department of Agriculture’s Natural Resources Conservation Service.
