Driver arrested after Foothill accident

Staff Reports

Two people were arrested Tuesday night for suspicion of driving under the influence after one of them was involved in an accident on Foothill Road just south of Muller Lane.

Genoa resident John Petrosky, 68, was southbound on Foothill at about 9:30 p.m. in a 2005 Buick Rainier when for some reason he lost control of the vehicle causing it to roll over, according to Nevada Highway Patrol Trooper Chuck Allen. The Rainier came to rest on its roof.

Petrosky was trapped in the vehicle and had to be cut from the wreckage. After being freed, he was taken to Carson Valley Medical Center where he was treated and released into the custody of the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office

He was being followed by a Foothill resident, Kathleen Sozzi, 69, who pulled over when she saw the accident.

Allen said she also appeared to be under the influence and was taken into custody and transported to Minden jail. Both made bail.
