Douglas teachers nominated for award

This Thursday, teachers and college professors from across the state will be honored in the second annual American Education Week Awards of Achievement Ceremony sponsored by the University of Nevada, Reno, College of Education.

Many Douglas County teachers were nominated for awards by fellow teachers, students and administrators.

Rommy Cronin, Don Baumann, Jeff Johnston and Toni Randall, all of Pau-Wa-Lu Middle School and Brenda Downs of Scarselli Elementary were nominated for outstanding K-12 teacher.

Vice Principal Fritz Battcher of PWLMS was nominated as outstanding K-12 administrator.

An awards ceremony will be Thursday, Nov. 16 at 7 p.m. in the Frank Meyers Auditorium on the UNR campus.
