Douglas hopes residents will describe lives on county web site
Officials are hoping that Douglas residents will be willing to share their stories in an effort to promote the county.
A website called “Douglas Diaries,” was created by Public Information Officer Intern Pierce Baker as a gateway to highlight individuals in Douglas County and their interesting stories.
“In a few, well thought-out words, we are asking citizens from across all areas in Douglas County to share their compelling and engaging narrative,” said Baker. “In other words, we would like to pitch the area to businesses and visitors alike using genuine, heartfelt messages from locals themselves.”
The idea behind the website was designed to start a conversation about how and why people are here in Douglas County. This information will be used to track trends and to see how others view Douglas County.
