Sheriff Ron Pierini presented Deputy Kevin Karosich a lifesaving medal for his commendable actions stemming from an incident on April 12.

On that day around 11:50 a.m. Karosich responded to a home in Douglas County regarding a non-responsive patient who was not breathing and had no pulse.

He immediately began CPR and continued CPR until relieved by East Fork District Paramedics.

According to East Fork Battalion Chief David Fogerson, Karosich was responsible for saving the patient’s life due to his quick life saving measures.

“I’m extremely grateful and proud of Deputy Karosich,” Pierini said in presenting the medal on July 18.
