Longtime Nevada resident Kim Cole was introduced as the new Douglas County Democratic Central Committee chairwoman at the party’s annual Keep Nevada Blue dinner.

She moved to Reno in 1956 where she grew up, attended school and began her career in construction project management in 1978. Cole moved to Carson Valley in 1990 to further her career, and to enjoy the quality of life in Carson Valley.

“I believe in maintaining solid human infrastructure to allow equality for all, treat all people with fairness and respect, and allow equal protection under the laws of our land,” she said.

The dinner-fundraiser was held at the Carson Valley Inn on March 8.

Cole acknowledged outgoing Chairwoman Cindy Trigg, member-at-large Melanie-Meehan Crossley, Committee Chair Nancy Stiles, and outgoing Committee vice chair and dinner chairperson Katherine Winans for their work on the dinner and other Democratic events.

Meehan-Crossley was presented with the Democrats’ coveted Star Award “for her fierce determination and dedication to Douglas County Democrats.”
