Democrats’ picnic on Aug. 19

The Douglas County Democratic Party Picnic will be held Saturday, Aug. 19, from 1-7 p.m. at Genoa Town Park, one block west of the Old Mormon Fort.

Democratic U.S. Senate candidate Ed Bernstein has confirmed he will attend. Assembly District 39 candidate Willie Edwards and State Board of Education candidate Michelle Trusty-Murphy will also be there helping to flip the burgers.

The Douglas County Democratic Party invites all candidates for public office to attend and meet the voters. Candidates from any party, running for partisan or non-partisan office, will have an opportunity to speak.

Several items have been donated for a silent auction including golf packages, two day passes from David Walleys Resort, dog sled rides and a glider ride from High Country Soaring. Other items also will be raffled.
