Cynthia Ferris-Bennett wins Entrepreneur Award

This year’s Entrepreneur Award was presented to Cynthia Ferris-Bennett at the Nov. 14 Luncheon Meeting of the Sierra Nevada Republican Women in Minden. Ferris-Bennett runs a total culinary center; she cooks and bakes, offers cooking classes, does catering and event design and coordination. A native Nevadan, she is the great-great-great-grandniece of George Washington Gale Ferris of the 1893 Chicago’s World Exposition and creator of the Ferris Wheel. She attended UNLV. She has over 25 years of experience in marketing, public relations, graphic design, and event planning.

She opened Sierra Chef in 2013. In the summer she runs Farmers’ Markets in Lampe Park and Genoa, and is the event manager for Orchard House in Genoa. Ferris-Bennett is a contributing writer for Carson Valley Living Magazine and for the Nevada Appeal Food section.
