Critical fire danger forecast for today
Staff Reports
A red flag warning for critical fire danger has been issued for 3-10 p.m. today by the National Weather Service.
Gusty winds and low humidity are forecast for much of the area as a front rolls in on Friday.
“Avoid outdoor activities that can cause a spark near dry vegetation, such as yard work, target shooting, or campfires,” forecasters warned.
Winds of 35-40 mph will bring increased danger of fire spread and choppy lake conditions today and Thursday.
Gusty winds and low humidity on Tuesday helped spread three fires in the Sierra Front.
