County sets Thursday forum for community/senior center
January 20, 2012
The public is invited to a forum 6 p.m. Thursday to discuss the design of the new Community & Senior Center in Carson Valley.
The Parks & Recreation Commission and Senior Services Advisory Council will hold the forum at the Douglas County Senior Center, 2300 Meadow Lane, Gardnerville.
The meeting will conclude after all public comment is taken.
“A significant amount of work has been done by various community groups and advisory boards leading up to this meeting to determine the various needs and uses of the facility,” said Scott Morgan, community services manager.
“Now that the project is moving forward to construction, a final process has been initiated to insure that the community has an opportunity to weigh in on the design prior to the development of specifications,” he said.
Construction is expected to begin late this year or early in 2013.
