Condition of woman hit by truck unknown
A Stateline woman was hit by a truck while walking her dog on Thursday near Ponderosa Drive on Kingsbury Grade.
Madeleine Cass was struck by a Toyota pickup driven by Charles Schofield, according to the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office.
Sheriff’s Spokesman Sgt. Pat Brooks said that emergency personnel received a report of a traffic accident at about 4:30 p.m.
Deputies and Tahoe-Douglas Fire District medics responded to the scene where they found Cass trapped under the pickup.
The inside of Schofield’s windshield was fogged up, and he was trying to clear it as he traveled 5 mph, according to Brooks.
Schofield stopped when he felt a bump and got out to find Cass lying under his pickup.
Cass was taken to Barton Memorial where her condition is unknown.
