Concert in Minden Park is Friday
What’s cookin’ on Friday? The last of the free summer family concert series presented by the Douglas County Recreation Division, that’s what.
On stage will be What’s Cookin’ – the artists formerly known as Three’s A Crowd. Contemporary light rock is on the menu, modern music plus rhythm and blues and classic rock.
The concert begins at 6 p.m. at Minden Park, and families are encouraged to take a picnic dinner and sit on the grass at the park, relax and have fun.
What’s Cookin’ features Patrick Major on guitar and vocals and Liz Broscoe on percussion, drums and vocals.
The group sings original material and has a new CD coming out his month called “Loose Covers.” Because of their unique instrumentation, the group is dynamically original and create roots-based rhythms with a modern unplugged twist.
The 1997 series is offered free of charge because of the contributions of businesses in the community, which include Carson Valley Inn, Carson Valley Medical Center, Stockdale and Crum, Sharkey’s Casino, John Fisher of ReMax Realty, Kiwanis International, Winans Furniture, Western Nevada Properties and the Town of Minden.
