The Douglas County Historical Society is hosting a Holiday Art Show. The event kicks off with a Meet the Artists Reception on 5-8 p.m. Friday from with complimentary hors d’oeuvres and a no-host wine bar. Library announces holiday closures
The Douglas County Public Library in Minden will be closed Nov. 22 and 23 for Thanksgiving and Family Day.

Museum hosts Holiday Gala Dec. 1
The annual Holiday Gala featuring Santa’s Cookie Shop, the Gallery of Trees, Gingerbread House display, Selfies with Santa, the Snow Globe Tower, and Letters to Santa. Tahoe Symphony returns to Gardnerville
Tahoe Symphony Orchestra and Chorus announces its 13th annual production of “Handel’s Messiah” with a performance 3 p.m. Dec. 15 at St. Gall Catholic Church in Gardnerville.
The orchestra will also perform at the Mont Bleu Theater in Stateline 3 p.m. Dec. 9 in addition to three other locations including Reno, Incline Village and Squaw Valley.
Tickets are available at the door 30 minutes prior to the concert, or online at http://www.ToccataTahoe.com. General admission to all concerts is $30 adults, and preferred seating is $40 and $15 for youth/students. Seniors enjoy a $5 discount. All students under 23 (with ID) are free.
Sertoma gathering coats through Jan. 31
