Main Street Gardnerville is hosting an open house and plant faire at Heritage Park Gardens Saturday to celebrate the end of winter.

“There will be a Scavenger Hunt, or you can walk the labyrinth, or choose some tomato plants for your home gardens,” said Main Street Executive Director Debbi Lehr. “A variety of other plants will be available along with some “Garden Goodies” to enhance your garden décor.”

Kids activities will be held starting at 11 a.m. in the children’s garden.

There are 10 spaces of various sizes available for rent at the garden. Plots can be rented for a small annual fee to help cover the cost of water and other necessities.

“It’s fun and it’s healthy to grow your own veggies,” Lehr said. “Come on Saturday to choose your spot in the community gardens.”

Heritage Park Gardens is located at 1461 Ezell St. in Gardnerville and is a project of Main Street Gardnerville.
