More than 150 runners and walkers participated in Saturday’s Tahoe Youth and Family Services third annual ColorBlast 5K at Carson Valley Medical Center.

Executive Director Christopher Croft said he lost count after 150.

“Last year we had around 100, so this means it is growing,” he said. “We have a fantastic partnership with Carson Valley Medical Center’s Family Health and Wellness Festival. Being a part of that makes the event more about the community health as a whole and raise awareness to all of the groups serving in the community.”

This was the second year the ColorBlast has been held in Gardnerville. The first ColorBlast was conducted in Genoa.

Medical Center spokeswoman Becky Hanson said about 300 people participated in the Carson Valley Family Health & Wellness fair.
