Classic car to be auctioned off to benefit senior center
December 17, 2015
When Ford unveiled the Mustang to the public, marketers urged car buyers to take the Mustang pledge.
Douglas County Community Services Foundation members hope Valley residents are willing to take a similar pledge by bidding for a red 1967 Mustang. All proceeds will go directly to the Douglas County Community and Senior Center.
The Mustang is part of the foundation's final fundraising effort for 2015. Offers are being accepted starting at $16,500 and will be taken through Dec. 30. Christensen Automotive is providing a limited one-year or 10,000-mile drive train warranty.
All bids over the minimum will be accepted. The highest and final bid takes the vehicle home on Dec. 31.
Douglas County Senior Services' Travis Lee is offering to show the car to anyone interested. To learn more, either visit Administrative Offices at the center, 1329 Waterloo Lane, Gardnerville 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. Call for more information at 782-9829.
The foundation is a nonprofit 501(C)(3) corporation. Proceeds from the sale will go to the center's capital equipment needs.
