Children make the dash for eggs
April 2, 2013
For 5-year-old Hannah Fishbaugher the Easter egg hunt at Trinity Lutheran Childcare Center was only a warmup to the main hunt at her grandma's house today.
"It was good finding the Easter eggs, but I'm going to find more at my grandma's house," Hannah said. "I'm going to share these with my cousins. Easter is all about Jesus really."
More than 50 dozen candy-filled eggs scattered the lawn and playground at the childcare center on Friday, and disappeared in minutes.
"The children love the fun of Easter and hunting for eggs," teacher Dawn Holden said. "We also teach them the meaning of Easter that Jesus died on the cross for our sins and rose again. In my class we celebrated Lent by making butterflies to represent the resurrection."
Matthew Marquardt, 5, said he enjoyed the challenge of the hunt.
"I like looking for eggs. It was kind of hard," he said. "I'm going to eat them all myself. I don't want to share with my brother."
